New York Street Style: Bloggers Rule the Streets of #NYFW

New York Street Style: Bloggers Rule the Streets of #NYFW

No matter how Vogue might feel about bloggers, fashion influencers, Instagram models, and all that falls in between, I think it's fair (and I am happy) to say that they are here to stay.  The proof is without out doubt on the streets, outside the shows at Skylight Clarkson and Skylight Moynihan, and everywhere in between. But here's another thing that staunchly anti-fashion blogger advocates seem to be missing - No matter how they might feel about the people wearing the outfits the outfits are amazing.

Fashion bloggers, even in several of their highly-ridiculed sponsored outfits, are slaying the latest trends AND displaying an immense variety of personal style. Don't believe me? Check out some of my favorite pictures from #NYFW, which include dynamite bloggers like Dani ofMermaid Waves, Megan of Honest21, Akiniyi of FitsonMe and more.

Philly Street Style Women's March Philadelphia

Philly Street Style Women's March Philadelphia

Today's Philly Street Style is going to be a little different. I'm not going to talk about the kind of shoes to wear to a protest or the now symbolic "Pussy Hats". Hell, I'm not even going to talk about the amazing level of layering that happens at marches. In fact, I'm not even going to do that much talking at all. Yesterday, at Philly's wildly successful Women's March, I was surrounded by thousands of strong young girls and women (plus men!) of different backgrounds, races, ethnicities, and orientations, who took to the streets to let our new president and his supporters know that we will not be silent in the face of oppression. I was so in awe of the size of the protest (hello, 50,000 people strong) and the range of people there, that I decided to shut up and listen for once. I talked to a few people and just had to ask. "If you had a microphone to all of America at this moment, what would you say?"

Philly Street Style: Dreamy & Clever, Nino Brand Makes A Classic New

No fashion lover can deny the power of a beautifully constructed tee. Finding one that's comfortable and fashionable can be hard, but if you're staying at The Hotel Palomar, it's now just one call away. Thanks to their collaboration with Philly-based fashion house Nino Brand guests of the Palomar can make their hotel room a showroom for this one of a kind, genderless, capsule collection. Here we have fashion blogger and my dear friend E.M. of Lark & Lace rocking one of the tees from the collection at the NinoBrandxPalomar sleepover that took place this past Sunday. Peep the zipper detail and E.M.'s casual Philly-centric styling choices.

Philly Street Style: Autumn Plaid with Keiko El

Crafting the perfect fall outfit is no easy task. It must be one part fashionable, one part cozy, one part weather conscious, and one part effortless. That's a lot of moving parts to execute correctly yet local blogger and model Keiko El is doing so with flying fall colors. On a brisk fall Friday, her oversized flannel is styled excellently with a pair of high-waisted boyfriend jeans - and peep the plaid detailing on the cuffs of the jeans. This outfit is a match made in fashionable lumberjack heaven.

Philly Street Style: hunting for style at the HUNTRS Launch Event

Philly Street Style: hunting for style at the HUNTRS Launch Event

Let me be the first to say that when Philadelphia does menswear, it comes correct. Case in point, Sunday's launch event for new e-commerce platform HUNTRS which took place at the iconic Barnes Foundation. Founded by the ever so stylish Ike Ewell (pictured above), HUNTRS is a "peer-to-peer" e-commerce platform that encourages its users to "hunt" for the best styles. Once he joins, the stylish man in your life can buy and sell the best in menswear styles. Not to mention that these high-quality men's fashion and lifestyle products come at amazing prices so that everyone who joins this tribe can look and feel amazing. Don't believe me? Here are some shots from the Terrace of the Barnes Museum where incredible menswear (and a few ladies who were not to be outdone by the fellas) was the star of the event.

NYFW S/S 2017 Street Style: What They Wear To The Shows

I can't believe it. Another NYFW is under my belt and I have the sore feet to prove it. Beyond my physical ailments, I learned so much and met so many fantastic people at NYFW and I wouldn't trade this experience for anything. Like I said before, NYFW is my Superbowl and I'm so thankful that I was able to participate in and outside of the shows. With that being said, here are some of my favorite street style shots from outside the shows.

New York Fashion Week 2016 Day 1: Colorful Prints & Patterns

New York Fashion Week 2016 Day 1: Colorful Prints & Patterns

I'm so excited to be back in New York for the style, the streets, and the shows. After a hilariously unsafe and ungodly early bus ride from Philly into the Big Apple, I spent today at Chelsea Piers for Fashion Palette's Australian Swim/Resort S/S 2017 and Womenswear. Outside the shows were a little empty due to the heat and everyone's very busy opening NYFW day schedule, however, that didn't stop me from snapping these pictures of show goers absolutely crushing this season's hottest trends. Frills, plant-inspired patterns, bright saturated colors and statement sunglasses were all the rage today. Don't forget to keep it locked on my Instagram for a look inside the shows.

Menswear isn't something you typically see on this blog. So, you already know that if I'm including it, it's got to be good.

You don't need multiple pictures of Philly native and menswear super blogger Sabir M. Peele to tell that his style is the epitome of the dapper city dweller. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to meet Sabir (aka see this dapper style in person) and interview him about some of my favorite topics - Style, romance, and the city of Philadelphia - as part of his Smooth Up tour with BIC Flex 5. Philly Street Style: Floral in Fishtown

Philly Street Style: Floral in Fishtown

There's nothing fishy about style bloggers hanging out in Fishtown.

This past Saturday I hung out with an amazing group of Philly-based bloggers in Fishtown. Amazing conversation was paired with coffee, baked goods, and gram-able moments. It's no secret that one of the best parts about Philadelphia is it's vibrant communities. The blogging community here is no exception to that rule. The members of PHLBloggers are creative, welcoming, nice, and impeccably dressed. Case in point, Melissa of www.skinnyaffair.com.

Philly Street Style: That Odunde Magic

Philly Street Style: That Odunde Magic

For those of you who many not be from Philly, you may not be aware that it's currently festival season in this great city of brotherly love. Every week there are several outdoor festivals, block parties, and concerts. And this Sunday was one of the best festivals of the season. Odunde is a vibrant festival that celebrates the many different forms of African culture. This diversity is best represented in this black girl magic filled photo shoot. I'm so psyched that I had the opportunity to work with some stunning local models and James, another Philly-based photographer that set all of this up.

Sometimes a person's outfit and the scenery goes so well together that I have to just assume that a shoot is blessed by the universe. As someone who's walked around in a 5-mile long circle to find the perfect location for a shoot, I know that this occurrence doesn't always happen. That's why I'm so excited to share these photos of local Philly blogger Pricilla of Best Trends For Life
