I'm a city girl through and through, but some times even a black coffee drinking train taking metropolitan gal like myself needs to go to the country. This weekend, kimono clad and under prepared for this new bout of cold weather, I went apple and pumpkin picking with my best friends Dana and Katie in Medford NJ. Now with fresh air in my lungs and a fridge full of fall themed produce, I can proudly say that my journey into autumn land was exactly the escape I need from the bustle of the city. Here are my Lifestoned Advice for Johnson's Corner Farm in Medford NJ.
1. Layer Up - Learn from my mistakes - a cute sweater and kimono does not a pumpkin picking outfit make. Even if you have to take some of your layers coming prepared will be worth it.
2. Pace Yourself - There's a lot to do in a place like Johnson's Corner Farm. (hayrides, pumpkin and apple picking, petting zoo, food, live music) So pick your battles then pick some apples.
3. Eat, Drink, Be Merry - Eat everything you can get your paws on. Seriously, if you are financially able to, spare no expense, because everything from the hot apple cider to the apple cider donuts is more than worth it. Like I always say, eat now and worry about the calories never.
That's it for me, I have a hot date with a bathtub filled with hot apple cider to get to. Happy Autumn everyone!
